 Abstract

This paper proposes a current measurement error compensation method for single current sensor SPMSM drives under lowfrequency modulation index operation. When using a single current sensor, two phase currents are sampled and the other phase current is calculated. Since the sampling instants of two-phase currents are separate, the sampled currents cannot represent the motor current at the same instants. Due to this current measurement error, the motor control performance can be degraded. This paper analyzes the impact of the current measurement error and proposes a current measurement error compensation method. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the proposed compensation method.
